A window screen from a house has a hole in it. The local hardware store can fix it. It is five miles away. You don't want to walk all the way to the store. The screen will not fit into your Mazda 6, your only car. It will not fit in the trunk, back seat, or front seat. How can you use the car to transport the window screen to the hardware store? If possible, use nothing besides the car (i.e., no ropes, clamps, etc.).
ChatGPT wanted to borrow a neighbor’s car or use a delivery service. It also suggested fastening the screen to the roof rack or hitch rack, but the Mazda 6 had neither.
When pressed, it did finally suggest to dissemble the window screen because the screen is already torn—and put the dissembled window frame inside the car. That was a good suggestion, but it did not come up with the solution that I actually used.
Use the windshield wiper to pin the window screen against the windshield. The spring of the windshield provides tension between the window screen and the front windshield. It acts like a potato chip clip or clamp. This is the way I solved this problem and it worked perfectly. Oh, I could see out the windshield because I could see through the screen.
Another solution that ChatGPT did not come up with: Hold the screen outside the driver's side window with your left hand.
